Policy on Distribution of Indirect (F&A) Costs to Campus
The annual F&A cost recovery by the campus is incorporated into the Research Foundation's financial plan. The portion of the Research Foundation Central Office's operating cost allocable to Stony Brook is deducted from that amount. The balance is returned to the campus. The following table indicates the formula return of F&A costs based on prior year's earnings to the earning units (Deans and Chairs) or to University-wide research development initiatives (all others).
