3. Find Funding and Download Application Package
DIRECTIONS: FIND A FUNDING OPPORTUNITY IN GRANTS.GOV
- Using Grants.gov, you will be downloading many files and documents to work with on each grant application.
Before you start, create a folder on your computer to house these documents and keep each application organized. - After you have installed the PureEdge ICS Viewer, go to Grants.gov. From the left navigation, click Find Grant Opportunities, then click Search Grant Opportunities.
- You can search in a variety of different ways: basic (keyword, funding opportunity number (FON) or CFDA number), category or agency.
- Upon searching, you can review the Search Results. To learn more, click on a specific Opportunity Title.
- After selecting an opportunity, you can view the Synopsis, the Full Announcement, or learn How to Apply. To download the application package or view the application instructions, select How to Apply.
Note: not all opportunities have packages available for download; some are simply announcements.

DOWNLOAD APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS AND PACKAGES
These instructions are continued from previous section.
- Choosing How to Apply opens the page called Select Grant Application for Download. To download the application package or instruction, click the Download link.

- This will open the Download Opportunity Instructions and Application page. After Confirming you have selected the correct opportunity, select the two download links:
- Download Application Instructions (PDF)
- Download Application Package (.xfd file - this is the PureEdge)

Important Note: Downloading and Saving
- When you select the download links, the files may open directly instead of prompting you to save them. If this occurs, select File -> Save As from the menu to save them to your computer.
- You may need to right-click on the application package download link and select Save Target As (or Save Link As) if the File -> Save As option doesn't work.
- The file names will
default to something
like the following;
you may want to rename
them to something more
friendly:

Save these files in the folder you created in step 1 for this grant opportunity
- In order to receive information on changes/updates to this opportunity, you must submit your email address where instructed. •
